Today, the Somali Animal Welfare Society (SAWS) visited several primary and secondary schools across Mogadishu as part of its ongoing project: “Building a Culture of Care: Educating on Animal Welfare in Somalia.”
This initiative aims to teach children the importance of compassion toward animals and raise awareness about animal welfare. By engaging young minds, the program seeks to instill a lasting sense of responsibility, empathy, and environmental stewardship.
During the sessions, students learned about:
- Treating animals with kindness and care
- The role of animal welfare in improving community health and environmental sustainability
- The importance of protecting animal rights
At SAWS, we believe that children are the leaders of tomorrow, and nurturing a culture of care from an early age is essential to building a more compassionate society.
We remain committed to expanding awareness and fostering a future where animals are treated with dignity and respect
